Rick Kerwin

Rick joined Prescient Securities in Feb 2009 as head of the bonds division.

Rick has 21 years experience in financial markets. He has 11 years trading experience in Johannesburg and London in the areas of Money market, SA Bonds and Derivatives, Equity Basket arbitrage, Emerging market bonds, Foreign Currencies, US Treasury futures.

He has traded for Deutsche, Barings, Standard Bank, Investec and has 10 year’s broking experience. Previously Rick was Head of Cadiz Securities Fixed Income and Bond Derivatives and has extensive experience with bonds, derivatives, swaps and structured products. He also gained 1 years experience managing Metropolitan Capital Statistical Arbitrage Hedge Fund (since November 2007) before joining PSEC on a consulting basis on 1 Feb 2009.
David van der Walt

David started in the Bond Market in 1988 with Stockbroking firm Mechiel du Toit, Solms.

He joined Simpson Mckie in 1989 and was a member of their bond team until they became HSBC. David subsequently left them in 1996. David traded on his own for three more years and left the markets in 1999.

After a sabbatical he joined Prescient Securities in January 2003 and has been a member of the bond team for over four years.
Shane Johns

Shane has been in the asset management industry for the past 8 years. He qualified with BSocSc (Economics) from UCT in 1998. Soon after graduating he was employed at Old Mutual where he performed various administrative roles.

While working at Old Mutual Shane completed his BCom (Hons ) ( Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management) degree at UCT. He also completed the Registered Persons Exams for Equities and Bonds.

Before joining Prescient Securities in December 2005, he was employed at Old Mutual Asset Managers (OMAM) in the Life Team, responsible for the reporting and administration of the Life Funds.
